Fangs and Lullabies - Kallysten How sweet can be a paranormal story with a baby?

Very... very sweet

Andrew is vampire, the owner of a Special Task Force against demons, and most of all, Andrew is a widower. image
The story begin is the saddest and happiest moment of his life... The birth of his son, and the lost of his wife.
When I read those first pages I was already thinking it was a big mistake... I was searching for a light book... something to distract me from the hardness of real life. Well, it took only more few pages and everything changes. Nicholas (Nick) appears in the story.

Nicholas is the funniest character. After almost a century away from his Sire he is accepted again in his house. I got some problems with the concept Nicholas was a killer (explained as he kill only humans that was blood donors to vampires, but in my view it's always a murder... no?). But well, ignoring it I love Nicholas. He is funny, and he is the best partner Andrew could find to help him to raise Jacob.

Jacob was the best surprise of the book. He will be the narrator at the age of two! And OMG that was SO DAMN CUTE! I love his voice, and his innocence was so unexpected! I mean, it's so hard to do it! A writer able to create an infant as main character, and write his POV? Amazing.. I love it and certainly was a very sweet surprise (I was not expecting a child as narrator, so I was really surprised)

I loved the light theme, two suborn (but in love) men trying to do the best they can to make a child happy and feel loved... I adored the drama too... And most of all, I was exultant with Jacob first person narration! You will read Jacob voice, from 2 to 17 years old, and that was really amazing... I liked it a lot!

My only two criticisms are:

The rush.. The start is in a "normal" pace and then the writer started to jump a lot of years. I miss more details, but I must admit it would be a lot, to one already long (but delightful) story.

The lack of paragraphs marks when the narrator (or scene) change. I got confused, more than one time... The narrators can be everyone from the book, and I think I would be less confused if there was some paragraphs marks to help me to get when the POV changed.
And also the scenes!!!!!! The worst part was after a sex scene (there is some explicit sex parts, all very good and I liked all!) the writer change to Jacob talking and I really got scared image! I took something like 2 lines understand the scene was another (and thanks GOD Jacob was not there with his father and Nicholas)! I went on, still thinking how gross that could be! image
I think some easy and very great things to tell the reader the POV will change are
***
or
skip a line, starting a new paragraph AWAAAAAAAAAAY from the sex, if the kid will be the narrator

Anything! Anything that would show when the POV changed, to avoid such possible gross mental image forever printed in my brain!!!

But guys, English is not my first language... maybe it's only me, and no other reader would be so confused all the time, trying to understand who is the narrator.

So 4 stars,
I'll certainly read more of this serie! (the end is not definitive! I can't wait to read more!)
